Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective (BEAM)

BEAM is a nonprofit organization that aims to remove the barriers Black people experience getting access to, or staying connected with, emotional health care and healing. They focus on education, training, advocacy and the creative arts. BEAM’s website contains a number of resources, including a Virtual Wellness Directory that can connect you to Black therapists, yoga instructors, and other practitioners.


National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)

NAMI is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to education and advocacy. One of NAMI’s most valuable resources is its wide-reaching network of local support groups for both individuals with mental illness and family members who have a loved one with a mental illness.


National Domestic Violence Hotline

The National Domestic Violence Hotline provides 24/7 free, confidential support for those experiencing intimate partner abuse. Their website has a number of resources and tools to help individuals create safety plans, find legal assistance, and educate loved ones on the nature of intimate partner abuse and how best to support a survivor.


National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

The Lifeline provides 24/7 free, confidential support for people in distress, as well as prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones.


North Carolina Coalition Against Domestic Violence

The NC Coalition against Domestic Violence offers a list, searchable by county, of DV shelters and other resources available in your area.


Open Circle Network

Open Circle activities are inspired by activities of the Bahá’í Network on AIDS, Sexuality, Addictions and Abuse (BNASAA) which started hosting conferences in November, 1989. For nearly 30 years BNASAA provided a series of conferences and local gatherings that created opportunities for individuals struggling with challenging personal issues to share their struggles, learn from other’s experiences and commit to service to the broader community. The Open Circle Network seeks to build on this history by continuing to focus on issues such as sexuality, addictions, abuse, trauma recovery and related issues that require a safe and supportive emotional environment to allow for honest and open consultation and to encourage personal healing.

Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network (RAINN)

RAINN is the nation's largest anti-sexual violence organization. It created and operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline and carries out programs to prevent sexual violence, help survivors, and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. Shatterproof is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the addiction crisis in the United States. StrongHearts Native Helpline

StrongHearts is a 24/7 safe, confidential and anonymous domestic, dating, and sexual violence helpline for American Indians and Alaska Natives, offering culturally-appropriate support and advocacy.


Tahirih Justice Center

This national nonprofit provides free and confidential legal and social services to immigrant women and girls who are facing forms of violence that especially affect women and girls (such as domestic violence, rape, and human trafficking), or who are denied basic human rights and freedoms because of their gender.
